Firstly the author. I don't know who Jake Maddox is, his name was on the front cover of this book, so I assume he is a famous person, but he actually did not write the book. Inside it says text (that means the actual book) by Blake Hoenia. If you wanted to say Jake Maddox presents or something similar it would be fine, but to put his name on it when he had nothing to do with it is irritating.
The book itself is about school wrestling, which is not the chair throwing stuff, but the mat wriggling greco-roman stuff, which seems to be an obsession in American schools, and nowhere else that I know of, but anyway, the idea of teamwork, and the acceptance of a female wrestler worked well, although the book was single focused on the wrestling aspect, and not much else in their life, which may or may not be a good thing.
