Este libro pudo ser de cinco estrellas sino fuese por ese inicio tan... soso y por algunas cosas del final (que por más que son increíbles y sorprendentes, no terminan de cuadrar al 100%). Y eso me molesta un poco.
«Si los escritores son seres tan frágiles, Marcus, es porque pueden conocer dos clases de dolor afectivo, es decir, el doble que los seres humanos normales: las penas de amor y las penas de libro. Escribir un libro es como amar a alguien: puede ser muy doloroso».
Primeramente me enorgullece decir que mis primeros sospechosos fueron los culpables, eso sí, mi teoría del por qué fue la que falló.
Algo que disfruté bastante fue el nacimiento de la amistad entre Marcus y el sargento Gahalowood, ese cariño sarcástico entre ambos 😙🤌
Also quedé maravillada por la estupidez de la gente del pueblo de no agarrar el libro y ver que todo lo que pasaba en él en cierta parte contaba cosas de Nola y Harry (jejejeje🤐🤭).

A lo largo del libro, Harry le da muchos consejos a Marcus, más que todo para escribir pero creo que ellos pueden usarse para la vida en sí, como el anterior.
Antes de la agresión, decía que pintaba porque estaba dentro de él. Cuando se recuperó por fin, decía que pintaba para estar menos solo.
En este libro, todos los personajes que aparecen son importantes. Si bien Luther es alguien raro, la historia de su personaje es preciosa. Es un artista que lo tenía todo y en un segundo, por estar en un mal lugar, lo perdió. Sin embargo, el arte fue lo que lo mantuvo con vida y propósito.
...Un buen libro, Marcus, es un libro que uno se arrepiente de terminar».
Y que final!!!! Fue un torbellino de sorpresas, de incógnitas respondidas desde todas las versiones. Magnífico. Sé que es un buen libro porque, así como Harry le dice a Marcus, no me arrepiento de leerlo.
Acá todos son sospechosos, todo es una hipótesis porque es algo que alguien dijo no un hecho en concreto. El libro abre con la premisa de saber quién mató a Nola pero luego ese punto no importa tanto, solo queremos saber qué pasó ese 30 de agosto y antes y después.
Es un libro que recomendaré mucho y pediré videos cuando lleguen al final jajajs

The Truth About the Harry Querbert Affair

Marcus Goldman has had a successful first novel, but now he needs to write his sophomore novel, but he’s having writer’s block. He contacts his old mentor Harry Quebert and visits him in the sea side town where he lives. He discovers Harry had a love affair with a 15-year-old girl, and not too long after Marcus has found out, the girl’s body is discovered buried in Harry’s yard.
I almost DNFed this book, but I was interested enough to find out what happened to Nola Kellergan, the girl. I also wanted to know if Harry Querbert was guilty of murdering her, not just pedophile. As beautiful as his words were about their love affair, he was still 35 years old. Harry started out as charming and likable but as the story progressed, he became a character I got frustrated, annoyed with, and pitied. I did not understand how he could love a girl so young and how she had so much power over him, though it made a little more sense once everything was revealed, but only by a little bit. Marcus was the opposite. He started out as self-centered and arrogant person, but as the story goes on you see him grow and learn. Nola was such a mystery and I didn’t know how to feel about her. She instilled mixed feelings in my opinions on her and I didn’t know if I disliked her or felt sorry for her. By the end it was latter. The novel is very readable and unputdownable, despite the temptation to DNF it. Unfortunately, the book is little too long for me. I felt like it could have been cut down by 200 pages. There were times when it felt like it could have ended, but a new twist or red herring would be revealed. The book did surprise me quite a bit with all the red herrings on who murdered Nola. I didn’t see the end coming, but it made sense how it turned out, and felt bittersweet, it felt right with the story.

I don't mind reading a book where an adult and a minor have a relationship, but this one just keeps saying that this shit is true love, which, ew, she's a kid, man !
That aside the rest of the story is good, nothing exceptional but still nice to read. Though it was WAY too long for what it is.
