This book gives a great insight into what it’s like to train as a physician. And how human and flawed most of them feel at times in their careers. And how intense Some of their cases can be. Great and interesting read if you’re a medical nerd.
This book was interesting. The narrator was good and wasn't boring in the least.
The one downfall to this book is that it is a product of it's time. The author is a bit more abrupt and less than politically correct. There were times where something would be said and my eyes got a bit wide. I understand that for the time, these things were okay but it just took me out of the narration.

I don’t usually read medical stuff, because it creeps me out, but this book was pretty great! It was very interesting hearing some of these cases. Also very sad, I can’t imagine going through some of that stuff. Doctor’s are freaking phenomenal human beings.
I started this book with little expectations of what it had to offer. My pleasure of reading it grew more and more as I progressed through it. It is a very well written account of a journey of a neurosurgeon as he progressed from medical school all the way until he was a practicing neurosurgeon. Very interesting indeed, particularly of how many aspects of the practice of medicine, as well as medical training, changed drastically over time. How norms changed, dealing with many conditions changed, and how work hour limits of surgeons-in-training changed as well.
