This book is kinda ridiculous, but I kinda had fun. Now not gonna lie, I was in the mood for something smutty but wasn't in the mood to read a whole book based on it and I found this (well the 2nd book) in someone's recommended a few months ago and figured I'd give it a try. Let's just say that the people who gave this book 2 or 1 star are so valid, however, I went in with few expectations and I think that's the best way to go into this book. The writing was fine. It's compulsively readable.

Was the world-building the greatest, no! I had a few questions, like why weren't they allowed to have sex with the Darlings? They made such a big deal out of that but never explicitly said why that was against the rules. In addition to making a big deal of it, they literally fold for her so quickly because she's "different" cuz she wasn't kicking and screaming like the rest of the Darlings before her, and because of that, that makes her "special" (again, ridiculous). Also, it's never explained why these boys are so sex-crazed, to begin with, we're just supposed to accept that and move on. The whole reason they took her at the age of 18 was so lazily explained, it's absurd.

The world itself is what made a lot of this book for me. It would've been great if it were expanded on more, but I've come to realize that books like this sadly don't focus too much on the world-building which is a bummer because I feel like books catered towards dark and explicit content don't have to be trashy.
Weirdly enough this is my first book with fae, I know. And I even found those little parts interesting of Kas and Bash killing their dad. I'm curious about the real reason they did that and how exactly they met Pan. Same with Vane. There are seven islands and if I recall correctly he's from one of them considering he has the death shadow. I'm hoping the shadow magic is expanded more in the next book because I'm kinda curious how the shadow affects their host and how the host are chosen as well as why Vane's shadow is acting up. Couldn't he just go back to his island?
You can have lots of sex and be complex.😂 But back to what I was saying before, being in the world was fun, as an avid OUAT fan, this really did it for me. However, although it was fun to read, again, I still wish a little more work was put into the story progression and world-building.
Like we meet Brownie. They get their own chapter and everything, and yet they get defeated so easily. And why did Peter Pan never question why Tilly was "willing" to help him all these years? He literally killed her mom, why would he think he would help her?

Also, I'm still confused about why Neverland is dying. Is it just because Pan doesn't have his shadow? If so, then why's the shadow's connection to the function of the island? It's stuff like this that I hope is answered in the next book. Yes, as ridiculous as this book was I will be continuing because it was fun!

As for the sex. It was fine. I was expecting more to be honest. There is a specific scene in here that I didn't like though.
It was the scene where Pan had her bent over the table, screwing her. And then had the twins screw her immortally after. With one twin, Kas, I think with his dick in her mouth, and the other twin, Bash, I believe doing her from behind while they both cummed in her mouth at the same time. I just felt that consent could've been utilized in a scene like this. There wasn't any indication that she wasn't into it but there wasn't any indication that she was either until they were done. Just felt this scene could've been executed better with the proper form of consent. I don't mind a rough man in books, but what Pan did was disrespectful. Also, I'm sorry, but why isn't this girl not worried about protection or anything like that? She just had three dudes fill her in the last 48 hours and no talk about protection or anything.

The characterization was fine. We have the twins, Kasian (Kas) and Sebestian (Bash).
They're fae. Got their wings cut off because they killed their dad. Also, the lore that the fae can die just by someone saying they don't believe in them is very interesting. Don't know if I think it's ridiculous and lazy or good considering Neverland is all about believing and whatnot.
Kas, the "sweet one". Bash, the more reckless one. At first, I liked Kas, but then he
impulsively demanded a girl suck him off because he couldn't have Winnie, kinda turned me off from him a bit
. Bash is fine as fine as these dark romance men can get, but I think I like him a bit more than Kas. He cooks! But we'll see!

Then we have Vane. The ultra grumpy psycho, who the silent bob of the group. He's fine. Not much to him, but being mean, distant, and no fun.
Possess a death shadow that gives him powers to terrorize however he wants so that's fun, I guess.😅 Also, him protecting Winnie from getting her brain fried came out of nowhere. Like it was believable enough for me cuz I was just vibing, but I totally get why someone else would say it came out of nowhere.
Then we have the infamous Peter Pan. Another grump, but instead of being a grumpy psycho like Vane. He's a grumpy killer psycho with pizzazz. And we have Cherry, the supposed doormat who's obsessed with Vane and his "killer" penis. Then we have Tilly, Kas and Bash's sister who's the princess, I think, of something.

I liked Winnie. She was spunky. And I'm glad she's aware of her "tendencies" and isn't ashamed of them.

Hope these characters get some progression as the books progress. They're so short and again, ridiculously fun so I'll continue when I'm in the mood for this chaos again.

This book was highly enjoyable and attention-grabbing from beginning to end.

I love the twins, Bash and Kas. I love Pan. And I especially love Vane.

I hope the rest of the series remains interesting!

Who knew I needed a dark Peter Pan story? Not me, but I’m happy I found one. I’m going to devour these next three just as quickly as I did this first one.

Idk what this was, it was fast, gritty, and something I had never read before… Pam, and Vence, Kash and Bash… I’m intrigued… might pick up book 2 on another whim. *shrug*
