I came here for the "what the fuck" and that's what I got. This is creepy at every turn, the atmosphere dense and the images disturbing. Every chapter is like a short story conected to the same theme, and while I admit I would like more of a single story, it's certainly done well. Although, I do wonder if it will keep being like an anthology, or if there's gonna be a plot that encompasses it all.

I never thought I could be be scared of spirals, but damn.

Such well-done, unsettling imagery in this book, and the main story of the mysterious spirals is great. A few of the side stories are pretty standard fare and the characters and writing isn’t especially deep, but there’s always a unique spin (ha) and usually a great payoff. There's a scene involving a centipede that made me throw the book across the room in horror. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a reaction, but I can’t stand those bugs.

While I really liked this horror manga there was something deeply disturbing about it. Long story short there is an entire town that becomes obsessed with spirals and horrific and strange things ensue. I had goosebumps the entire time I read this and honestly it made my skin crawl at times. That may have to do with the fact that I have trypophobia (holes or patterned holes make my skin itch, feel uncomfortable, etc) and these spirals hit a little too close to that. Overall it had an interesting plot and was a quick read.

My first Junji Ito, I can see myself absorbed into the spiral world.
Slightly disturbing and peculiar.
Finished in less than an hour. Love it!

Wow... that was... bothering.
In a good way.
I loved the stories included in this volume.
There were lots of imagery that will leave me with nightmares for a few days.
Here are some of them.
