In my opinion this book was a solid 4. Though it was slow at times, I enjoyed the story as it gave me a view of the Amish Way of life.

I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult and this novel did not disappoint which was a relief because the last book I read of hers was wildly disappointing. This however, was amazing! I loved the connection between Ellie and Katie even if it was frustrating at times it was a good representation in my opinion of what a strained mother-daughter relationship can look like.

The decision to have Katie not continue her relationship with Adam despite their connection was a good choice for the story as well. The fact that the two had a connection at one point which resulted in the premature baby with an unfortunate fate was not enough in my mind to have the two of them remain together.

Very predictable read. I had it figures out early in the book.

This book was so interesting! It started slow, but I definitely grew into it. Jodi Picoult really knows how to write a novel with mystery and a great twist. For me personally, I felt the twist came a little late, however, I still wasn't expecting it! Such a great novel with great writing, however, I didn't give it more stars because it was a little slow and almost repetitive at times. I have thoroughly enjoyed every Jodi Picoult novel I have read, this one included.

I’m somewhat fascinated by the Amish community so this book was interesting and a peek inside their lifestyle.  This story kept me engaged and had a strong plot with a good twist in the end. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

★★★

E as restantes personagens, principalmente, as que representavam a comunidade amish tiravam-me do sério.

I read this book after reading "My Sister's Keeper" and loving it. I figured I would enjoy it but I was surprised at how much I loved it!! It's one of those books that you can't put down and has lots of surprises!
