The writing here is stylistically ok, but I'm just not a big fan of the spy historical, at least when there seems very little at stake. And romance rests solely on physical attraction. AND: a book this poorly copyedited/proofread doesn't deserve to be read (my favorite: capitalizing the "g" in "groin"...)

I didn't really read it all the way through. Didn't really connect to it.

I was very excited that I won this on first-reads and sad that it took me so long to get to it. But I'm glad I won this book, it made me want the next books in the series. It was easy to get through and it wasn't just about sex. (Though I am still new to the Romance Genre so maybe that's now how it is anymore.) There was only two sex scenes in the book and that surprised me, I figured with 'Iron Wills' reputation that there would be some more exploits in the book. I would've given it five stars, but the beginning of the book was very confusing for me and I wasn't exactly sure what was going on. This is supposed to the first in a series, but it seems like this should be second or something with the way Will's Spy History was set up. I think it took until the third or fourth chapter for me to completely understand what was going on. From there though it was breeze, though I kept having to remind myself I got an ARC because there were a lot of errors in the book. But I enjoyed the book, and while romances aren't usually my thing, I think I shall try to get the next book when it comes out!

Short Review:
I have always adored spy regency romances, it adds a bit more spice than what regular regency romances offer. Ever since I first noticed the covers of this series, its been on my list. I have heard some many great things about this series. And so since my local library has all of them, I decided I could start from the beginning of the series. So With The Devil In Disguise, we see a story that begins with Lucinda looking for a husband, and then William displays some real interest that she reciprocates. William is part of the "Young Corinthians", a network of british spy's. I enjoyed seeing these two begin a courtship, even though at first William's intentions is strictly professional and all about completeing his mission. The Devil In Disguise was a sensual read that is packed with a witty dialogue, a plot full of intrigue and mystery, and a romance to captivate hearts!! REMARKABLE!

I won an advance copy of this! I have never won anything, and I just got this in the mail today. PERFECT TIMING! I just started my month long vacation. The cover is beautiful, and the sentences I glanced at were yummy. I shall devour this within a few days!

Review: I thought the book was great! I really enjoy the character, Will. The only thing is that I wish there was more romance between Will and Lucinda and a bit less of the Corinthians. Lucinda's aunts were funny, I especially liked Charlotte! Overall, a fabulous read! :)

despite it being well written I found it boring and predictable. Perhaps I am getting jaded and should switch to a new genre.

I don't know what happened, I was very interested in the beginning then the pacing seemed to slow down a bit. It seemed to me that the action was too slow to come and the relationship came to fast, almost unbelievable. The book was good and I will continue on with the series, maybe even give this book a second read maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.

Never warmed to the characters

Not recommended. The characters seemed wooden to me and the plot did not intrigue. It came highly recommended but I’m sorry I bought it.
