not bad but a little corny to me ngl. I did have a fun time though especially in the last quarter of the book.
would not recommend to anyone who is triggered by child loss because it is GRAPHIC in that regard, imo. I did find the horror of infant loss and pregnancy to be gripping and also gross and scary though lol 😠it is successfully eerie and I would say a successful debut novel :)

3.75 Solid but at one point the protagonist says the phrase ‘madwoman in the attic’ aloud and it gave me the ick (this book takes place in 1902 and that phrase was first used in 1970s). Also sometimes the language was a little to flowery and dramatic
