This was a really intense, emotional read. It tackles some dark subject matter, but it’s written in a way that feels thoughtful and real. The story pulled me in quickly and kept me hooked all the way through. I do wish the ending had a bit more depth it felt a little quick but overall, it was a strong, haunting story that stayed with me after I finished. Definitely worth picking up if you’re into heavier psychological thrillers.

This was disturbing - definitely check your trigger warnings. This story is told by two teenage girls' perspectives between then and now, about their captivity in a basement and life after getting out. Heartbreaking and terrifying, but couldn't put this down - I read this on one day!

Dr. Lucinda Berry never disappoints! I loved listening to this story on audiobook. It was easy to follow the different perspectives from the past and present time. I finished this book so fast because I couldn’t stop listening.

I wouldn’t say it was a good book, just kind of disturbing? I get what the point was with the two different kind of victims. But it was just a sad ending to me
