I think a lot of things in this book were mishandled. Didn’t like the ending at all. I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator very flat. I liked the idea of the story just didn’t land for me

Lucinda Berry always writes about tough subjects to read. It's hard for me to give it more stars just because of the subject matter, but still a very good quick read. After I finish reading her books I always want to hold my babies close, and try and protect them from the evil that's out there.

I feel like there’s a problem with me because I really, actually loved this book. It made me feel incredibly sick to my stomach and certain aspects of this book hit a little close to home - but it was certainly another quick and binge worthy read. I don’t know, Dr Berry sure does have a way with writing because sheesh. Be sure to always check trigger warnings and of course don’t jump right in unless you’ve done your research (tropes, trigger warnings, etc)
