Pretty easy read. I definitely wouldn’t say this is YA because it’s pretty graphic but it falls somewhere in the middle of a YA and adult novel. It wasn’t the best thriller I’ve ever read, but it also wasn’t the worst. I enjoyed reading it; it just wasn’t life altering.

This was dark but so good! Check trigger warnings before you read. Hard to put down!

This truly makes you hyperaware of what you post on the internet: he found out the route Ella took from her runs on Nike Running that would auto post to her socials

I wanted to like this after Lucinda posting a TikTok that this was her most disturbing book but honestly I’ve found it quite mild and forgettable. Saving Noah is by far her most harrowing of books and this paled in comparison.

That’s not to say it wasn’t a good book. It was slow paced, covered some disturbing topics in detail and overall the plot was quite good. It’s been touted as suspenseful but it definitely isn’t. Either way, it’s on Kindle Unlimited so it gets a standard 3 star for KU Thrillers!

Lucinda Berry is known for her dark psychological thrillers. So going into them I’m already prepared to be shaken. This one though? This went beyond dark and sits in the depraved category. The reason? It deals with a serial murderer/kidnapper that takes young girls who are virgins and does unspeakable things to them. And if that’s not bad enough there’s a twist at the end that really throws you over the edge because WOW! Now I know Lucinda Berry does amazing twists but man I did NOT see that coming. I wanted to giggle with glee but because of the subject matter and content of this entire book I couldn’t.

All in all, this is another great read from her and while I was able to stomach the content because I have read books like this before not everyone will be able to. So, check out the trigger warnings and understand that this book is DARK, unsettling, and quite upsetting in the grand scheme of things. But it is written well and shows readers how trauma affects people differently.
