Ella survived a true nightmare- being kidnapped and held hostage by a serial rapist who uses social media to target and stalk his victims, who are specifically virgins. [BARF] Ella and Sarah are the only two to make it out alive and the FBI are now searching for the man responsible. Except Sarah has a secret and it soon becomes clear that there is more to the nightmare than anyone had imagined.
It's definitely a dark, at times difficult read, a 'ripped from the headlines' style thriller that also had hints of 'Room'. Enough twists and turns to keep the tension decently high throughout, and I was absolutely invested in seeing if the monster ever got caught and what Sarah's secret really was. 4☆

Interesting how perspective can change the perception of a victim so much. Truthful representation of the cycle of victimization and how it can escalate. It was pretty slow paced and predictable but not bad. Pretty short too

A fast paced thriller to start the year. I really enjoyed this one and powered through it.

3.5 stars - writing was very well done and I was intrigued by the characters. I didn’t know what the book was about going in and it was a bit tough. I understand why people give this 4/5 stars but not for me.
