Ella and Sarah are both victims in their own way. How they deal with the aftermath is real and gritty and not pretty. But it’s honest and brutal.
I could empathize for both of them. Ella with her need to fight and escape. Sarah with her need to feel loved and needed.
Get your hands on this book! It will take you into the nightmare of what victims of abuse have to endure during their captivity and what they endure after. The path to healing is hard.

I don’t think it was “distasteful”. Dr Lucinda berry is a child psychologist and I think she handles the contents fine. It’s just upsetting for me to read.
