I have been eyeing this series for a while now but wasn't sure if I wanted to start the commitment of another big anime series, thankfully one of my libraries is finally adding manga to their collection and this book was one of them! This was a fun action-packed manga full of demons, battles, training, and excitement. I wasn't always sure about the MC, especially in the beginning, but he did grow on me and I am now definitely rooting for him. Love that he has a sense of smell that helps him out. I hope that he gets through the training, I will have to grab book 2 (yes, I also got that one) soon because I need to know what is happening next! The art was pretty good, though at times the wounds looked a bit weird, more like someone smothered their faces with charcoal or something.

If I didn't have the second volume I would be ill right now because how can it end there.. But let's go Vol 2!
