I loved this book! I won it in one of the monthly giveaways run by tbntbooks last year. From the cover, I had mistakenly thought it was a children’s book. Apparently, the story was an iteration of a Bengali folklore/legend, based on the character of the benevolent Bon Bibi and the mighty tiger spirit who inhabited the mythical Sundarban. The book was a novel in verse, and I was obsessed by the storytelling, how despite the short length it was able to convey vivid illustrations in my mind, bringing to life the colorful and majestic characters. The story was rich in culture and the descriptive verses lent itself a certain charm as if it was written in the olden days. The verses were written in a rhyming form too! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a folklorish, short read!
