Powerful. Going beyond the bounds of a biography, "Out of his skin" probes into the place racism played in '80s football, especially in working class Merseyside clubs Liverpool and Everton. Covering the issues conventionally left out of mainstream football histories, the introduction, written in 2001, challenges the reader to consider how the world has (and hasn't) changed since the days of Thatcher.
