This book didn’t have the best reviews, but I still read it because I love Emily Giffin, and I’ve enjoyed all the books she’s written. This one was my least favorite. It started out strong, then just really fell flat for me. I didn’t love or connect with any of the characters, and didn’t think the love stories between them was realistic.
It doesn’t feel like a good sign when a book starts with a prologue full of dull, unnecessary dialogue. Quitting while I’m ahead. Not for me

This book pulled me in right away…I instantly was into the characters and storyline.
But about 2/3 of the way through it felt like the author changed. As if someone completely new began to pick up the story. The character arcs shifted instantly, and I started to dislike the plot. Not because of the plot itself, but because everything felt so “suddenly wrong” for each charcter’s personality. There was no build up to the shifts, which is probably why it felt like the author just needed to wrap it up quickly and with cliches.
