Something's aren't answered and it has more tropes than I enjoy

A great beach read - as a warning the first chapters are dark with reference to suicide, something you don’t usually get in a beach read but then it becomes a friends supporting friends frolic. Definitely an emphasis on the importance of your chosen family. it does feel like things are tied up a little too neatly at the end in an unrealistic way and makes it seem like true individual growth was achieved in a pretty short span of time. But it does feel hopeful for moving forward after an extremely difficult period

Loved that the main relationship focus was friends rather than romantic partners.

A classic Emily Giffin... this story was so heartwarming. Trigger warning: there is heavy mention and discussion of suicide, strained parental relationships, cheating, and alcohol abuse. The friendship described in this beautifully written novel is one that any human would give their right kidney for - unrelenting, supportive, and everlasting. And the travel destinations don't suck either!

I enjoyed it until I didn’t. The pacing took a plummet downhill for the last 1/4 and it couldn’t recover from the haste to the point that the romances felt like an afterthought. Between that and the weird political things thrown in there at random, it was a miss for me.

i would love to give this more than three stars, but it lacks a few things for me. positives, it was a quick and easy read. negatives, i feel like it tried to deal with too many heavy topics and failed with some. wdym one of the characters was sexually assaulted and that was just one sentence and never mentioned again. the romances also… random and first started to happen at the 80% mark. the character i didn’t expect to have a gay romance did though! overall, it wasn’t a bad read, just wasn’t anything spectacular.

thank you to NetGalley and publishers for this arc!
