I usually really love Emily Giffin’s books but this one didn’t do it for me, though it was a compelling and quick read. A lot of the relationships felt 1-dimensional and some romances popped up too quickly. We also should have had more time to get to know a certain character before they exited the narrative in order to make the rest of the book more believable. Disappointed.

DID NOT FINISH: 60%

Felt like it was dragging on too long. Might try and come back to it later.

2⭐️ Honestly…this book is really dumb. It’s plainly written by someone who thinks they’re above the stereotypes of an idiot American m (and clearly is NOT). The entire plot surrounding Summer is not only unnecessary, but clearly injected with the intent of adding significance and depth but it’s not fleshed out enough to fulfill that. The alcoholism aspect, the romantic “twists” that are way too easy to project from the introduction of the various romantic characters…and the overall hollow protagonists all take away from her attempts at finding substance with this narrative. I’d write this one off as a “meh” (at best). I would not recommend this read whatsoever.
