I recall enjoying other Giffin books, and liked the “getaway because life is falling apart” concept. The life changes felt rushed & the characters unbelievable, and it never got better. Should’ve stopped in the first few pages when someone decided to move across the country to go to UVA for “drama or studio art”.

it was honestly so random and all over the place for me. I like the story and concept and message and whatnot but i thought the characters were annoying and a bit immature/one dimensional in ways. hard to get into and didn’t pick up very well. a fine beach read
