My favorite novel as a kid! Checked it out via audiobook to listen to as I slept, mostly around election/inauguration anxiety.
I wish I had read this as a kid. I really liked it now, but I think if I were younger, I wouldn't have figured out most of the plot beforehand, but rather would have been surprised when I was supposed to have been surprised. Still - excellent story!
Kids will love it - pretentious adults will argue over the historical accuracy! Gotta love how good some people are at taking stories too seriously. This one is obviously just meant to be fun and my ten year old self certainly found it to be that.

This children's book is the exciting story of a girl who sails across the ocean apart from anyone that she knows. She starts out rather clueless and silly, but changes as the book progresses.
I found that I really had to suspend the adult part of my brain to enjoy this book without reasoning how it would never have happened.
