A graphic novel written by a mother & daughter duo exploring loss and navigating grief. Although emotional the book is lighthearted at times with interspersed funny moments. The strong author bond is highlighted throughout making the book relatable and heartbreaking at the same time. The beautiful illustrations add further sentiment.

I work at a library so I get to read a lot of books that my co workers plop on my desk and say, "Here, read this." And I am eternally grateful for that. One sleepless night, illustrator Hallie Bateman realizes that her mother will die one day. She asks her mother to give her some guidance about how she can go about her life when her mother is gone. Author Suzy Hopkins, Hallie's mother does just that and in the process we get this gem of a book!

Oh how I loved every word of this book. This is the kind of book I wish I had thought of writing--so to eventually copy it for my son will most definitely be the highest form of flattery. Sad, thoughtful, funny, interesting, and personal this is a beautiful instruction manual on death that everyone should read and read and read again.

I love the concept and want to read their other book too.
