Molly Harper does it again. I don’t know how, but she has me laughing out loud while walking the dog with every single books she writes. Humor in books is hard! Harper does it with natural ease and perfect timing. The worlds she builds are filled with so much more than romantic love promised by the romance premise. She builds communities full of characters that you want to invite over for a barbecue and hope will lick your forehead so you can be adopted too. I wish I could hang out in mystic bayou with the team.

Also, Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis knock it out of the park with their performances.

The fifth installment in the mystic bayou series did not disappoint! It was exciting to get to know new shifters and to get to the bottom of some of the stranger things happening in the swamp. I am excited to see how the group continues to expand and I am loving the way the found family is coming together!

Wait! Is that it? But I want more!

Great ending to a captivating series. I didn't want it to end. And obviously I liked the connection between Cordelia and Brendan. The friendships between all of couples. The sense of family and home. All the warm and fuzzy stuff.

This book was really cute. Although for characters that like The Simpsons they missed the opportunity to make a “think unsexy thoughts think unsexy thoughts joke” a few times which would have been perfect. I’m still waiting for Ivy to get her own book but I like that we got to know more townsfolk in this one.

Always Be My Banshee is book four in the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper and duel narrated by Amanda Ronconi & Jonathan Davis.

I always enjoy return to the Mystic Bayou. It’s such a unique place with such a verity of supernatural characters to enjoy.

Cordelia has a special talent which will finally get use closer than ever before to the rift. Thou this talent does put a strain on her, yet we do get to learn new things about the rift.

Brendan is hired to be her backup or bodyguard. He’s a rare male banshee, cursed with seeing the deaths of those around him.

Cordelia and Brendan right from the start have this strong mutual attraction. The author this time around focuses more on the budding relationship between Brendan and Cordella as well as the developing friendships. I enjoyed the romance and I liked seeing Cordelia open up and develop bonds.

We do get a lot of progress on the overall story arc, we see the trademark humor that Ms. Harper is known for, and we get a mystery plus adventure thrown in.

Narration: As with the previous books we have a duel narration. Overall the both do a good job. This time around our male lead comes from outside the country, so we get a solid Irish brogue. I have come to enjoy the audiobooks and the duel narration.

I’m not sure what is in store for the series. Always Be My Banshee feels like it could be the end and if that’s the case I’m ok with it. Everything wraps up nicely and all the characters get a happy ending, but if we do return I’m happy to come back to Mystic Bayou.

I did find something missing from this one, action? I felt it mostly went on and on, and everyone who has been in previous books where there and, well hello the plot?

Or maybe it was the chemistry between them that I did not buy? Also Brendan being a banshee, not the best paranormal being considering. Poor guy.

As for Cordelia, if she touches someone she will see what they have done, and some people do bad things. Same with things, if she touches an object it is the same.

And together they will figure out what the f i going on...

But yes the drama was lacking for me, first at the end it got going.

I did like the narrators. Ronconi is good and I liked the guy doing Brendan's chapters too. But then I can never say no to an Irish accent.

Even though I read the previous book I feel that buy now you should have read them all, there are way too many people stopping by.

Two new league employees travel to Mystic Bayou and find love and trouble. This story will at turns leave you howling with laughter and sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. A fantastic addition to the series.
