An interesting story that left me curious as to what would happen next... despite near constant disappointment with poor military tactics and culture. Editing and continuity issues abound. Societal memory doesn’t change as fast as the author seems to think it does.

Picked this up as part of a bundle. It was interesting enough. It's just a guy going through space marine boot camp. I was a little disappointed that the plot doesn't seem to start in this book, it just sort of sets up the next one.

This is basically a rewrite of Heinlein's Starship Troopers with less philosophy, and better mecha and action sequences. You'll know if that is your sort of read or not.
