This series will always hold a special place in my heart for being one of the first manga I ever picked up. Rereading it as an adult has been fun diversion between some of the longer/older books on my TBR.

I've noticed that the manga is quite a bit more gory and vicious, at times, than the anime, which is kind of interesting. Over time, Kagome has solidified as my favorite character of the series. The manga portrays her as a little more tenacious than her anime depiction. The pacing and reactions feel truer than it does when animated, which is probably partially due to budget and keeping audiences interested, I guess?

Inuyasha is also a bit more of a jackass but that makes the slow-burn romance and his own character development more satisfying.
