Great page-turner filled with twists and revelations at every turn. Harlan Coben will once again satisfy his many fans, and keep you reading well into the night.
What a great book!
I am always looking for stories I haven't heard a million times before.
And with this one I really didn't have a clue what was going on for most of the book.
It was gripping and original.
I really enjoyed it.

I have a nasty habit of often figuring out the who-done-it or final conclusion to the mystery well in advance of the last page. Not so with Harlen Coben books. He keeps me hooked and guessing from beginning to end. Usually his stories feel effortless in their telling, smooth in plotline and natural in event occurance. However, I found myself tripping over Six Years. The story felt somewhat contrived at times (which is not typical of Coben's books) and I could not seem to connect with the main character. While I do enjoy the elaborately woven complications of Coben's storytelling, I can only offer 3 stars in light of having read much better stories by him. Still, let me be clear, I will definitely pick up another Harlen Coben as he is a stellar mystery-suspense writer.
I loved this book! It kept me guess right to the end. Just when i thought i had figured out how the book was going to end i was wrong. This book is hard to put down. Read it every second i had. This is my new favorite writer.

This is another book I tried to win in a giveaway and didn't. I liked the summary and decided it was time to give it a try. Thank you Goodreads for your book banners and giveaways. I was really interested in the idea behind this book. Jake Fisher has found the love of his life and thinks that nothing could make life any better when she tells him out of the blue that it's over and she is marrying someone else. Six years later Jake gets an alumni email from the university he teaches at saying that the love of his life's husband has died. He could never let her go and decides to try and rekindle the relationship. When he arrives at the funeral he sees that the guy has a different wife and life. When he starts asking questions all the people he knew in that relationship have no idea who he is.
The further I got into this book the more interested I got. Every time Jake hit a dead end I wanted to know what was going to come next. I may have listened to this book but I couldn't put it down. I Have read one of Harlan Coben's books and I liked it but it wasn't amazing. This book was close to amazing and I am so glad I read it. I am definitely going to be reading more by Coben. The story was really well put together and the pace was perfect. Just enough suspense throughout to keep it interesting but there were still those shocking moments that every suspense novel should have that really grabs your attention.
I really liked the characters in this book. I could connect with Jake and really feel for him. Through the whole book things seem to go from bad to worst for him. If I had lost my one love I would do what ever I could to find her too. Thankfully I married mine, but I could understand how I would feel if I lost her like Jake did. I would have dug into every lead I could get just like Jake and I would have fallen into the same trouble. It's so hard to try to explain without giving something away. One thing I will say I didn't care for about this book though. Towards the end when answers are coming and pieces are falling into place we get answers in an odd way from another character who's story is the same as Natalie's. I was so lost when this happened I had to go back and re-read/listen to this part. After a while it did all make sense but it took some time. Needless to say this threw the pace of the book off a little and just frustrated me.
Overall I really liked this book. Having not read many by Coben I am impressed with this book and I have one more on my to-read shelf currently and I am anxious to see how that one turns out. If the next one I read is just as goo I could easily see Harlan Coben being an author I read regularly. I would have a lot to catch up on which would be nice to have a steady go to when I need a book to read. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I even suggested my wife give this a read in case she would like to use it for her book club.

Another Coben page turner
When you are looking for a quick bit of escapist fun, you can always count on Harlan Coben. The teaser for the book catches you, then you start reading and before you know it you are 10 chapters deep and looking for an excuse to read just one more chapter. That’s a pretty good description of all of Coben’s books that I’ve read, and “Six Years” is no exception.
The good: the book wastes no time getting going, and you’re hooked by the end of the first chapter. Much like Stephen King, Coben inhabits his main characters with a personality that you can relate to so that when things start veering in outlandish directions, you rarely question and just enjoy the ride. Just when you think you know where things are heading, Coben throws in a twist that ratchets up the suspense and makes you want to keep reading.
The not-so-good: I won’t say the “bad”, because I genuinely enjoyed the book. But, now that I’ve ready 5 or 6 of Coben’s books, you pretty much can pick up the pattern. You’ll have a likeable protagonist, something will happen to that person (usually in the first two chapters), and from there you’re hooked wondering what will come next. I say I’ve read 5 or 6 because honestly they start to flow together and the books are not overly memorable once you’ve finished it. When that’s what you want from a book, Coben has proven to be about the best there is. I’m a notoriously slow reader at times, and I don’t think I’ve spent more than a week reading one of his books. Every time I decide to mark a page and put the book down, I wonder if I can find time to read just a little bit more. That’s great while you’re reading the book, but the you realize that when you go to grab another at the library, you’ve got to read the back to try and remember if you’ve read this one or not.
So that is a lot of space spent on the negatives of a book that I rated 4 stars and really enjoyed, right? But, not every book needs to challenge you and make you think. Sometimes it is just fine to grab a book and escape from reality for a bit. When that is what you need, then “Six Years” more than fits the bill.

Interesting. I didn't really have any idea how this would play out and I'll say the ending kind of surprised me. The book overall was interesting and a page turner, in my opinion. I don't really read a lot of this genre so I had nothing to compare it to but I found it to be a decent story. I did think certain parts were a bit far fetched but it is what it is.
I loved this book. It gets you hooked from page 1..took me everything to put it down. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Highly recommend.
What an incredible book. So many twists and turns. I felt proud of myself for almost seeing one of the twists and then the master, HC threw another 6 twists at me. This book was so well done. The book is about Jake who goes to the wedding of the love of his life (Natalie).. marrying someone else. After she makes him promise to leave them alone, he goes off and lives his life. Until - 6 years later, he sees an obituary for the husband and goes to the funeral to talk to Natalie. But then..... I loved the misdirections and the twisted road HC took us on. I loved the character Jake and the people he encountered. I love how this book made me want more to try and piece it all together. Go and read it! It’s brilliant
