This is my first Harlan Coben book and I'm not sure what to say. I can't give it 5 stars and I can't give it 1, so 3 will have to do. I couldn't stop reading but I don't think I enjoyed it that much. There were so many moving parts, too many, in my opinion. I didn't care for the main character. The ending was predictable and yet, I couldn't put the book down. I think I really like Coben's writing style but this subject didn't cut it for me. I'm excited to check out more of his stuff.

Diese Bewertung fiel mir doch etwas schwer, da mich das Buch zu Beginn doch recht schnell mitgenommen hat. Ab einem gewissen Punkt schleppte ich mich jedoch nur von einer Seite auf die nächste. Von Spannung fehlte jede Spur. Als schlussendlich auch noch typische Klischees erfüllt wurden, kann ich leider nur sagen, dass dieser "Thriller" für mich nur ganz okay war.
I can always count on Harlan Coben for a suspenseful novel break between some of my more hardcore reading. This was a book about finding a love that you lost and solving the mystery of why you lost her. I enjoyed the book and it was a quick read.

À un moment donné, on commence à se poser un milliard de questions mais les réponses arrivent lentement et successivement. On se retrouve à la fois englouti et pétrifié par les différents tournants que prend l'histoire.
Tout simplement : Magnifique.
C'était mon premier Harlan Coben (Oui, j'ai honte) et c'est loin (mais alors là, très très loin) d'être mon dernier.

I really enjoyed this overall & was able to read it in one sitting because I needed to know how it needed. The plot was interesting and I loved trying to figure out what really happened. However, the main character Jake, annoyed me to no end. I understand why he was making the decisions he was but it just ended up frustrating me 99% of the time, especially towards the end where his choices are hurting more than helping. I also felt like the very end was a little anti-climatic, but I did enjoy how it wrapped up and everything connected. Overall it was a good book.
