Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors. I’ve only read one book that I was disappointed with. I hate to say though, I feel like he is falling into some sort of predictable regimen with similar male characters tangled up in crazy scenarios. I still really enjoyed it though. The story is really well thought out and I liked the way it ended. The characters are as realistic as they could be without being boring or clichéd. I think it’s another good effort from him, and if you like his other books, you will enjoy this as well.
Six Years, a story about a man who has loved only one woman and trying to move on with his life after having to let her go so she could be with another person. And like so many mysteries, something happens and he spends the whole book trying to find out what happened to her and why did they have to end. In short, he is looking for closer!
I am a SUCKER for books about lost love and people trying to move on and so forth. Maybe it is that I see myself in that helpless/hopeless state of mind or maybe I LOVE to feel the emotion it gives people, like a junkie on drugs! Ether way, the first page, to my enjoyment, tore me up with emotions and longing and proceeded to continued on threw the book, never slacking.
It was written in first person like the "hero" was writing a memoir about his life. I liked that for there would be remarks like, "...sounds like a bad country song..." or '...gag me with all this emotions crap but how else can I explain it?' And I liked that, for truly anyone with any sense will tell themselves (I feel) "this is ridicules! So stop being so dramatic!" And for those who read thrillers/action and not romance/drama it gives guys the, "okay, at lest he sees how he ridicules he sounds and not going to let that stop him."
If you are looking for a book on the emotional torment a person puts themselves threw, letting go and having to move on with life finding closer in other ways, I don't think you will be disappointed! After all the pain and longing I felt, I felt it had a emotionally satisfied ending. I felt sad and happy at the sometime.
It had all I wanted, self-pain/torment, deep emotions, question of sanity, a little thriller, fighting/brawls, and an ending that makes me feel dependently-good. (as much sense as that sounds)

Good mystery....3.5-3.8

I enjoyed this one but it is not quite as good as some of his others. I LOVED the first 2/3 of the book but the last bit was a bit of a leap. Still a fun mystery.
I really live Harlan Coben's writing. It just gets better and better every book.
