Six Years

Harlan Coben

3.59 AVERAGE

The book is very capitivating with tons of action. There are some good twists. The pacing is excellent, and the chapters are good lengths. The mystery is intriguing. Exposition is delivered nicely. It is an added bonus that the font is huge. A quick and intriguing read.

The story held my interest, but I just wanted to shake some sense into the main character! Natalie was the love of Jake's life after a 3-month relationship - really? Could Jake not see how selfish it was to risk Natalie's life because he needed answers?!

3.4. First, Harlan Coben's writing is great! But his plotting had too many places where Professor Jake Fisher makes ridiculous leaps of faith and does inexplicably stupid stuff. Six years ago, Jake found his soulmate and he thought she felt the same. But, Natalie suddenly decides to dump him and marry Todd. She makes Jake promise not to look for her. It turns out Todd was an alumni of Lanford College, Jake's alma mater (and his place of employment. When he sees Todd's obituary in a campus email, he is drawn to the funeral A plane ride away- first bizarre leap) and-- Todd had a different wife, not Natalie, and a marriage that clearly was in place six years ago when Jake attended her wedding to figure out if it was for real. This sets off a series of events whereby Jake tries to find Natalie and repeatedly runs into obstacles and danger and gets into trouble at work and confounds his current friends and former acquaintances with his persistence in the face of warnings and pleading that the give up the search. And, frankly, it just makes no sense except that it's all about true love. This is an entertaining book much of the time but it was also irritating and thus, no roundup to a four star rating.

One of the best Harlan Coben thrillers I’ve read.

Just...Wow! Nothing else worth saying.

Fairly good plot but poorly written.

This is a very interesting and exciting story!! Far better than his new "missing you".
