I was more than mildly curious as to how this story was going to unfold. I knew I would love it because there hasn't been a story written by Ms. Lane that I haven't loved, but I wondered how it was going to work out. It worked out much better than I was expecting! The story is dark and sexy, but there is also a lot of tenderness and sweetness. I loved that it was more of a slow burn and that the chemistry between the two characters had time to develop. I loved the way the sexiness played out and the way the romance was woven into the story as a whole. It was about differences, overcoming fear and prejudices, and learning to love without boundaries, all wrapped up in a beautiful fairy tale retelling. Purely magical.

I was curious for centaur spice, and sadly, I was disappointed. This one wasn't for me. If you like BDSM type stuff, then you may enjoy this more than I did.

Plot was extremely thin on the ground and I found the weird "archaic" language offputting, but the SPICE. Someone delete my GR account when I die.

Certainly worth a read

This is the book for you if you like monster/human (are centaurs really monsters?) romance, shorter reads, minimal plot, interesting anatomy, and a bit of a softer dominant in the relationship. It was certainly a fun piece of escapism
