Incredible, though a little more uneven than Vol. 1
Due to the inclusion of some fairly weird one-offs, Vol. 2 isn’t quite as consistently amazing as Vol. 1, but wow, the heights this one reaches are incredible, and the lesser stories are still fairly good, but they just seem a little out of place when compared to the majesty of the best stories. This volume definitely is a rollercoaster of tone and genre, moving from horror, to comedy, to romance, then psychedelic sci-fi. These big shifts can lead to some literary whiplash, and does add to the overall uneven feel of the volume, but it’s all handled so expertly, that one cannot help but feel impressed by the ambition of it all. Highly recommended.
