Max's story was not going how I thought it was going to be, I thought it maybe, it would have been straightforward but it wasn't. Even though the things max had been though the life he ends up getting and his health.

I’ve read the book within one day.... couldn’t put it down.

My favourite quote in the book is

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, as kids don’t always know what’s best for them!

Best book I’ve read in a long time.

Even as a social worker myself, it’s so easy to be infuriated until you remind yourself that the parents have trauma of their own as well. Not that this makes their treatment of their children or behavior excusable, but it does (should) give you more empathy, which all of Cathy’s books have.

Cathy Glass's style is quite hard to read at times - she writes every tiny boring detail! I found her come across as somewhat judgemental in this book, too.

I’ve been a fan of Cathy glass for quite a while and her stories are quite the eye opener I always finish one of her books thankful for the life I have with my children and always feeling the need to help children in the way she does. This book wasn’t a disappointment I couldn’t put it down!!

I absolutely love Cathy Glass as usual. She allows you to discover in depth the difficulty of children living in foster care.
The details and the conversations in this book just make you realise what these kids go through.

The cover features a little book, Cathy Glass always chooses to have a child on the front cover, it adds realism to the story and makes you know that the story is a true story.
I really appreciate Cathy giving us so many details and bringing us along with her throughout her journey.
I've never been disappointed by Cathy and she writes perfectly.

My heart this book is amazing. All Cathys books ive read has had some kind of main topic, apart from the fostering ofc! This time
obesity is discussed in a very sensible manner
. I really recommend the book, just a fair waring, I shed a lot of tears!
