Yet again, Ellen Hopkins has created an amazing book that showcases what loving broken people looks like. This is a story about a younger brother who does everything right (or at least tries to) who is constantly overshadowed by his brother's troubles (addiction after brain damage in a football game). Trace struggles with whether or not telling others about his brothers' changes is betraying the brother he loves, but he also doesn't want to lose Will forever. I liked that Trace had some supportive people around him, who don't blame him for not speaking up sooner but understand where he was coming from. Highly, highly recommend for 6th grade and up!
Moderate: Addiction
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
