Read this for a YA lit class focusing on reluctant male readers. 3.5 stars - definitely recommended for middle school/high school boys. My complaint is that the language is simplistic but I think that plus the compelling story would draw reluctant readers in.

This was the sequel to Joseph. Shelia Moses is the queen at telling a tightly knit story that captures you immediately. I liked that this story took place in Durham, Raleigh, and featured mentions of North Carolina Central. Her mentions of "AKA sorority" leads me to believe that Shelia is not intimately acquainted with Greek life.
