This is a YA horror novel set in a post apocalyptic America where the rich get their own theme park somewhere in the south, and all of the workers get to live happily in their homes.

This novel starts off with a creepy atmosphere and Giles just continues to ramp up the tension in this novel. While some things are predictable, Giles continues to ramp up the tension and the stakes. I really enjoyed the characters, the complicated relationships, and how wealth and race play such complicated roles within this novel. The setting of the theme park and how the apocalypse seems to feed it just roll right into the stakes.

I loved this novel and highly recommend (but there are definitely some trigger warnings to check).

This YA thriller was trying to do a lot of different things, to varying degrees of success, but overall I had fun. It felt like it fizzled out a bit by the end though. If you like retail horror (eg. Horrorstör) or socially conscious thrillers (eg. When No One Is Watching) you will probably enjoy it.
