I read this for French class in high school but because it was in French I barely remember it, and this time around I read it in English and it just hit home a lot harder. Love it.

A unique rose... oh, my heart sob sob

I thought parts of it were insightful (loved the planet with the businessman) and other parts were just strange. Of course, these days I read children's books with a mindset of "will I read this to my child?". This book, no. I don't want to teach her that "grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them." I want my child to come and talk to me, not think that I have nothing to say unless it is about "bridge, and golf, and politics, and neckties." And I really, really did not like the ending.

I actually fucking cried.
