While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous stories first for context and also because they are just that good. This was actually my least favourite of Kylie's books so far which is saying something because it's a good book!

I knew from Alex's introduction in Ignited by Him that their story was going to be hot and they certainly did not disappointed. I'm not usually a fan of instalove but it was so well written that you can't help but love Alex and Lily together.

Alex is a possessive king of the underworld but he is a softie for the women he loves. I am a huge fan of this Alphahole. Lily is such an amazing female character. She is a badass. She's funny, a spitefire and has a good head on her shoulders. Even though she feels the instalove with her entire being, she doesn't make it easy for Alex. She makes him put in some work which I loved.

The shower scene right from the start grabs your attention and that continues throughout the story. I will say that I felt like some of the suspense and drama felt rushed and not as developed as I'm used to from Kylie. I think that's what made this one my least favourite. I feel like something didn't hit the mark the way they usually do even though the couple did.

I read this one immediately after reading Ignited By Him so there were scenes featured in both that felt repetitive. I don't think this would have been as big as an issue for me if I hadn't read them so close together.

I love this universe and the families in it. I'm glad there are many more books to go!

Next time someone asks if you're seeing someone, you tell them yes. You tell them you are Alessandro Mancini's girl."

Oh my god! If you are a mafia/dark romance lover… THIS IS THE CHRISTMAS BOOK FOR YOUU!

We have Alessandro Mancini (Alex) who is a “businessman” with a lot of enemies. QUE THE OVERPROTECTIVENESSSS!! You know that’s my favorite. We also have Lily who is the daughter of another “businessman”. I loved everything about their story! Alex is so possessive but also has a real soft spot for his sister, his niece, and of course Lily.

"I won't ever give you up. You are in my veins, At times, I can be possessive. Arrogant. Protective. But what I promise I will always be is yours."
This book made me blush and laugh. There was steam, suspense, angst, and the SEXIEST meet-cute EVERR! I mean she watches him please himself in the shower from her window across the way….

I finished this in one sitting, it is the perfect xmas book! It is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone!

5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kylie Kent is incredible, her backlist has a consistent zero skips from me. This book overlaps with the first in this series and it is great to see some of the events from a different perspective. I was hesitant about second generation books but I am loving it and this couple is adorable.
