honestly, i really enjoyed this book. i finished it in a few days on holiday and i thought the narrative flowed excellently. interesting to read about two heroines whose views on life changes so much throughout the book. i enjoyed bonjour tristesse most, it was fun to experience cécille’s anguish (in a non creepy way) and the ending was very romantically shocking. a certain smile was interesting, im not sure if i agree with the introduction in its claims of an abusive relationship but certainly it was a very interesting perspective, to enter into an affair knowing you cannot love them.
