I have to tell you that I am so excited about this new twist on Vampires, this dystopian paranormal romance. Oddly I have never been a huge dystopian fan (minus Hunger Games of course, ha) but there is just something so right about bringing these two genres together and in particular with vampires as the paranormal element.
Reyna is a loyal as they come, to her brothers that is...her only remaining family, a family who have not just fallen on hard times but have been living in poverty, her brothers working themselves to the bone just to keep a ramshackle roof over their heads and a minuscule amount of food in their bellies. Reyna, unable to finish college, meaning unable to get a beneficial job does the only thing she can to help her families finances, she decides to become a blood donor.
Things go topsy turvy for Reyna however when she becomes (basically) a test subject in a new type of blood host arrangement. Instead of short term arrangements the vampire counsel is attempting to discover how long term arrangements between one vampire and one host will work out. Seemingly in their mind this is a win-win situation for everyone, but of course you know there has to be something nefarious going on underneath. Not only is Reyna invited into this new program but she's also placed with bad boy millionaire alpha, top of the 'game' vampire, Beckham.
When it comes to Beckham, he's a vampire you love to hate and hate to love. He's got a lot of annoying habits (one human in particular) and even more secrets. Yet, even at his worst moments if Reyna could see past her fears of the unknown and her naivety she would see that he is only trying to care for and protect her the only way he knows how. The vampire world as we know it has a different feel in this book but the basic truths of vampire society hold true. There are always machinations, always a hierarchy, and always some truly depraved among them. I loved that even with the dystopian-ness of Blood Type the basic truths that we have come to expect from a paranormal are still there. It gives this book a edgy comfort that will have you feeling safe in your read when you really never are, ha.
I will tell you this book, it ends on a pretty big cliffhanger so if you don't mind them go forth and read, READ NOW. However, if you are not a cliffhanger fan be warned. Buy the book but just wait for the next one, Blood Match to come out..maybe even the last, Blood Cure. I am so excited for this series. I am a HUGE paranormal fan and other than my tired and true authors (J.R. Ward, Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Carrie Ann Ryan...) I feel like paranormal has kinda fallen by the wayside so it is great to see a new fresh idea coming out, especially one like this that will have you hooked and begging for more!

It has been a while since I've read a good vampire book. The last time I really got into one was The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike and I read that when I was in high school. I haven't found a series that I've wanted to read...until now.
When I started reading Blood Type I wasn't sure what to expect. Knowing the types of books K.A. Linde writes I knew that there would still be a fair amount of angst in the book. I was unsure of what would happen in the in-between. Would I like the rest of the story?
Well I read a preview chapter that she posted a while back and from that one chapter, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about this girl, Reyna. I wanted to know more about why she was doing what she was doing. Then we met Beckham. And the angst started and not only was I already hooked, now I was salivating to get through each chapter.
The story is well-paced and the characters are thought out. I love Reyna and her spunk and I love Beckham and all his broodiness. The story line kept me invested in the characters and in the story. And when the end came...it hit me like a bolt of lightning! I could not believe that's where it ended. And now, I am so anxious for the next book!!
K.A. Linde did a great job with this first book. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next book and where she is going to take this story and these characters.

I’ve found it really hard to review this book as much as I enjoyed it I found it a bit boring and slow as times for me I felt it lacked a bit of excitement that I do enjoy in my PNR books but the ending made me excited and I’m definitely looking forward to reading book 2 I just hope that it ticks all my PNR boxes .
If your not to sure about PNR then this is a great place to start as it wasn’t “too much” Reyna she did what she had to do and Beckham well he’s all sorts of arrogance and complications but together there was something that drew you to them.
The ending tho that was the best part of the book for me and the reason I am looking forward to book 2!

My rating is closer to a 3.8 stars. I read it but sort of started to skim towards the end. I hyped this book up in my head way too much, because it didn't live up to my high expectations. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I am a little disappointed. Also I think I had trouble liking it because it was in third person - it feels much more impersonal and it's hard to get into the story. I liked the plot, but this book jut didn't really do it for me. OH the end did get me intrigued, so I'm probably going to read the second book lol
Oh wow! It’s been awhile since the last time I’ve read a very good vampire romance. I’m glad I’ve picked this book up. It has the dystopian vibe wherein vampires lived and ruled over humans.
I think the concept of a blood escort is unique although terrifying. You can imagine, letting them feed over you for a fee? Who wants it? Well, desperate times calls for desperate measures. Reyna, had no choice but to offer hers as she had been selected not just for any vampire but for Beckham who happens to be one of the wealthiest and powerful vampires.
I love both Reyna and Beckham together. Their chemistry sizzles like whew! I can't wait to see what's in store as they navigate their way to some dangerous vampire politics.
What I don’t like? The cliffhanger ending!!
I want more! 😫

I tried to like this book so much, but I finally decided to just quit while I was ahead. To be honest, it started off interesting. I was intrigued to see a dystopian world that was ran by vampires that humans had to live in. However, the heroine irritated me with her whole being. She got worse as the book went on. I am all for a more sensitive or delicate feminine character, but she was just irritating all around. Don't get me started on the the hero or Beckham as they call him. I absolutely hate him. I wish I could say that he has some redeeming qualities, but he has none at all. So yeah... think I'll just skip this all together.

Spoiler
He has a gf the entire time he is with the heroine and justifies him cheating by "it's none of her [his gf's] business".
It's currently 3:47am and I just finished reading this book, I just couldn't put it down. It is so addictive
Anyways it about this girl who lives in this world where vampires wear suits and walk in the light and there is this company who employs people to basically be feeding bags for the vampires.
This is where she meets Becks who is one of the top vampires in the hierarchy and is also the vice president of the company.
Becks isn't what she expects and slowly things begin to get steamy between the two of them (and I mean really steamy!!!!)
The ending kinda have me by the balls and I cant wait to read the next book!!!
I did have a bit of an issue with the world and the characters, so of the characters are so inconsequential that I begin to wonder what the point of them is.
Anyways I just loved it so much

I wanted to love this book.. I love everything Linde writes but this one just did not work for me. There were a few things that just bothered me. One, I can't stand when a male calls a female little one. My grandpa calls me little one.. so that just freaks me out. Two, I did not like Reyna. I think she was brave for stepping up and doing something that terrified her so she could take care of her family. That is fantastic. But I HATED how she kept throwing herself at Becks. It was embarrassing. Becks straight up told her he was seeing someone else and Reyna thought it was totally fine to be like NO you want me! She just rubbed me the wrong way.
Now there are things that I really did love about the book. I loved the world building and I loved the society. I think it was interesting and very well written. I want to know what happens next. I really do. I hope Reyna grows up a bit though.. and I hope Becks can keep being honest.
I received a copy of this book from the author.
