I always enjoy a vampire book so I knew I’d have a good time with this one. Vampires are superior. Humans are food and so on. Reyna signs up to be a blood “escort” and is paired with the ever broody Beckham. Their relationship is hot and cold for most of the book. Reyna is annoying honestly. But there’s a pretty significant twist at the end that I did not expect at all! I always like when a book manages to surprise me!
I love me a good vampire book and this one did not disappoint.
Beckham is everything. He is broody, dark, mysterious, and one hot vampire. He might be keeping secrets but you could tell he felt something for Reyna right away.
This story had me intrigued with having a human be a “permanent” to a vampire. Seeing Reyna be that for Beckham and her figuring how to live this new life was a fun journey to be on. I love her compassion for people and her sass towards Beckham. While Reyna would keep finding herself in life threatening situations, Beckham was always there to protect her.
This book is full of twists and turns and that ending left me gasping. I need to know what happens next!

This was such an addictive and fun read! It contains everything I love in a book and I already can't wait to read the second and third book in the series. The focus is mostly on the characters and their interactions and it's clear that the plot is mostly serving them and their growing romance. However, there's some politics in there, there's some mystery and there are a few really nice plot twists, especially towards the end.
