There's something about Gabaldon's heavy detail of 18th century medicinal herbs, crude surgical procedures, scandals, Scottish politics and ideals of honour, American politics and ideals of honour, the clash of the previous two, Brianna's attempts of recreating the 21st century in the 18th and the ENDING in which I KNEW it was going to happen eventually.

No spoilers, but this book was definitely more exciting than #5. Will be moving on to book #7, soon!

*3.5 stars (shockingly enough) Yeah I think this rating is probably more of a reflection that it took me so long to read than anything else. I liked the story towards the end especially but I just felt like it dragged for way too long! Of course I will continue in the series but this was not my favorite installment. Lots of darker elements to this one as well that had me cringing at many points.

This was more drama than a soap opera. I loved every page of it. There were more laugh out loud moments in this book than all the others combined.

Everytime I pick up one of the outlander books I forget how many dark topics are covered lol but at the Same time the storylines are so complex and beautiful that it’s like ok I’ll just try and ignore the bad stuff. I also don’t understand any of the war stuff so sometimes it’s like ok hehe yay! Like that meme. But this was a good one, couple of crazy twists at the end
