The first time I read it I really liked it, but I couldn't read it more than once, it just seems boring

Rereading this reminded me how off book the final movies went, such a shame! This took me a while to get through, but I feel like I understood a lot more of the details than I did when originally devouring the final instalment in the Twilight Saga. I also feel like Stephenie Meyer left the door open for more books down the line… or is that just my wishful thinking?

I didn’t read all of this book I just read the parts that I wanted to and then skimmed the parts that I didn’t care for as I know the story line as I have seen the films

I'm glad to say that I am finally done reading the Twilight series. Although I wasn't taken away by the first book in the series, I felt compelled to finish reading all of the books. I thought that maybe they would lead me to discover something raw and amazing - I mean, afterall the Twilight series has been compared to the Harry Potter series. Alas, this was not the case. I can't understand how anyone can compare the two series, except for that: (a) they are a series of related books; and (b) they sold millions of copies each. Other than that, they are completely different. I don't even think Meyer has a gift for writing (anyone hear what Stephen King had to say about it?), although I did pick up [b:The Host|1656001|The Host A Novel|Stephenie Meyer|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41apOOcBqsL._SL75_.jpg|3328799] at the library and will probably read that pretty soon. It is intended for adults, so maybe Meyer will surprise me with a more adult-like style of writing that is not full of teenage lust and egocentric characters...

Despite not enjoying the first book, I went on and read all 4.... still didn't like them really.
