This book is more about the mystery and the crime than the romance and I was a bit disappointed because of that, but I loved it anyway.

The prologue made me laugh really hard. Regan was very funny as a child. The conversation she had with her brothers about the girl at school who was tormenting her and her friends was hilarious and though they were exasperated, it was obvious they cared very much for her.

I love Regan's brothers because they were really good with her and loved her very much, but they annoyed me for being so controlling.

I also love Shophie and Cordie, but Sophie was a bit crazy for her own good. The story she told Regan and Cordie about Shields was completely outrageous. What a despicable man. Another gross guy was Sweeney. I hate cops like him, seriously.

All about this book was creepy. What if one day we write a murder list and the next day the people in there start appearing dead?

What was supposed to be a punishment ended up being the best thing that's ever happened to Alec. Being demoted to Regan's bodyguard was his boss's way of punishing him for leaving the job and, after all, Lewis was just making him a favor. Their relationship was very professional at first and it took them a while to start having feelings for each other. Alec was very sweet. What he did for Kevin was very kind.

This time it wasn't just Alec who saved Regan's life, she also saved him. If she hadn't thrown herself at the bad guy, he would've killed Alec.

When they were all safe and sound in Regan's suite, Alec was so cute with her in front of all that people that I had this huge grin on my face and it was very funny seeing him tell Aiden he was going to marry his sister, just like that.

I would've like to read about Regan and Alec's family meeting, but I know they'd love her.

My takeaway in this book is that walker is his name but he's a race car driver. that's all. And maybe I've had enough of gorgeous girls looking down on their power.

This one was tough to get through. The heroine was such a spineless doormat, in the end I was hoping the villain would kill her, just to put her out of her own misery. Hell, I wish he had killed her on page 10 and ended the book, just to put me out of my misery.

Re-read June 2017
Re-reading this was painful. I liked Alec, but Regan was just ... she's utterly spineless. The world - led by her oldest brother Aiden - treats her as if she is incapable, incompetent, and utterly worthless. And she never does anything to change that. It's awful. She puts up a teeny bit of token resistance late in the book, but no one takes her seriously, and she just soldiers onward. It has a ripple effect of making her despise her brothers (seriously ... I plan to skip Aiden's book later in the series, because fuck him), but the worst damage is to her. She is pathetic, flailing around and taking everyone's abuse, content to be treated as if she's inept.

It's sad, because it is an interesting plot with a potentially excellent hero, but ... her character is so terrible that it just crushes the story.

So much ugh.
