I could never be Amish. They are amazingly talented and peaceful people, but the rules!
Why are these books so good to me? I loved the story and the characters and the tragedies and everything about it. I can’t wait to see what happens to Katie next.

Slow start and slow pace but very surprising twist at the end that has me looking into the next book in the series.
Not well written at all, and to add to it, the plot was both predictable and unbelievable in many respects. For as much as was written about the characters, I didn't feel that I really "knew" any of them. The book seemed flat.

This book was excellent. It's not my favorite of Beverly Lewis but I've at least read it twice now. I've predictable which is what I usually can't stand in a book. And throughout the whole book I was hoping Katie would never find out about the satin baby dress although I knew she would. Amish people are very interesting to me and this book shows some of their traditions. Can't wait to read the second in the series again.

I read through this book so fast and I loved every twist. I related to her need for true meaning in her life instead of a list of rules. Beverly Lewis, I'll be back.

What do you think of when you hear the word “Amish”?? For me it was exactly like what was described in this book (possibly not as strict… seeing as how music is life) it shows that people who are raised to believe a certain way will abandon what their heart says. And before you ask, the book is better then the movie, no debate.
