Before the coffee gets cold is a brilliant story about familial love and frienship. Each character has a unique personality and their own lovable quirks and I for one will definitely be reading the rest of the series to come back to the amazing cafe Funiculi Funicula once more.
Heartwarming, although sometimes the translation seems uneven.
I couldn’t get into the writing style. I felt the narrative hopped between characters too sharply, and the translation was clunky (I’ve read Japanese translations before, there’s usually some quirks that stick out in English, but this felt more difficult to read).

This story was charming and easy to read. Once I got my head around the concepts and characters it was very engaging. A few tears were definitely shed.
