The time travelling cafe ...

I heard about this one from Emma at Drinking by my shelf like agessss ago and knew I wanted to read it. I’ve never read anything about time travel but this was such a good introduction to the idea. The characters are all so amazing and I loved them all. I was expecting this to be a five star just because of how much I’d anticipated to cry but it didn’t quite get that. I did cry just not how I’d expected. Overall I loved it and I think eventually I’ll read the second one because the stories were beautiful but I’m not rushing to buy it like I thought I would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi is a heartwarming, introspective read that delves into the delicate nature of regret, love, and second chances.

Set in a café where customers can travel back in time - the novel offers a quiet, thoughtful exploration of human emotions. While the concept of time travel is fun, the real strength of the book lies in its character-driven stories. It's a gentle, uplifting read that makes for a perfect palate cleanser. 4/5 stars for its simplicity and emotional depth.

If I were watching this as a TV series with subtitles, I probably would give it 5 stars. But something about reading the English translation (with no translation notes) was excruciating to me.
