Took me a bit longer to finish but this is such an important read. Khalidi covers a lot of history leading up to modern day, drawing a lot of parallels to the colonization in the US. Highly recommend.

Khalidi is by no means objective in his history of 100 years of oppression of the Palestinian people, yet it’s hard to argue his point about the colonization of Palestine by Israel. Palestinians have had no voice in the process for decades, subject to the whims of Britain, Israel, and the United States. Yet the author’s one-sided portrayal forces me to wonder about the other side of the story and jeopardizes the ethos of his argument. As my wife said to me, however, the writer of the slave narrative doesn’t look at his condition objectively, so why should the Palestinian?

omg i finally did it! i had to rent this book from the library 3 times to finish bc i had to read it so slowly, but i did and im so proud.

reading dense historical nonfiction is way outside my comfort zone, but this one kept my attention and was packed with details i had been previously clueless about as a kid who was raised exclusively on the likes of fox news and rush limbaugh.

this text leaves me curious to continue learning more.

A comprehensive and informative overview of the war on Palestine. After reading it I feel much clearer on (and more enraged by) what has led to the genocide happening today.

I ran out of time with this one. It was due back at the library before I could finish it. I did find it to be very informative, and I will be picking this up to finish it at some point in the future.
