While the overall story is quite light-hearted and even silly, there are a few heavier plot points
The book does set itself up to be a series at the end by leaving a bit of a cliffhanger and plenty of loose ends. From my understanding, there will be two more books and I will definitely be picking them up when they're released.
Graphic: Blood, Murder, Injury/Injury detail, and Violence
Moderate: Sexual assault, Abandonment, Grief, Body horror, Fire/Fire injury, Sexual harassment, and Terminal illness
Minor: Child death and Cursing

I didn't even finish the first chapter because I ran out of hands to count cliches on.
For some reason the characters are read like teenagers, even though they're supposed to be in their mid to late twenties. Also their motivations make zero sense to me, and while that might be something that is explored later in the book, I can not possibly bring myself to sift through endless amounts of boring office drama to find them.
Evie's character is honestly kind of dull, her main character trait is that she's clumsy and that she's consistently lying to her family, her dad having 'mystic illness' which genuinely feels like a filler name for an illness that the author couldn't bother explaining further, which makes it feel like its only purpose is so Evie's dad is out of the picture.
Villain's character had more physical description than her and one of those is a longer than necessary commentary on his thighs in leather pants, you do you girl but like if you're gonna thirst over a man in leather pants don't be in denial about it. Also he's generically tall, dark and handsome, which is fine but on top of the 3000 other cliches that make up this book is a little redundant.
By the end of the first chapter I wanted to bash my skull in. This is cliche fuel for the cliche bus to cliche town, and I will be walking in the opposite direction.
