I really enjoyed this one but felt like some places were really drawn out for no reason. Or maybe it was just that I was more interested in the "who's the killer" part of the book and less into the romance. Lawson and Hallie were definitely cute but they're not my ✨️it✨️ couple. They definitely lack a certain spark to take them all the way to a 5 star spot.

Where Has This Series Been All My Life?!
Nanny x single dad meets romantic suspense, a s not a combo I came into the year thinking I needed, but man, was I wrong.
I can’t quite believe I haven't read the rest of this series already (I plan on rectifying that immediately) because Catherine Cowles writing is incredible!!
After years of slowing healing from her traumatic past, Hallie returns to the small town she used to love to take a nanny job for a single dad to three boys. Who turns out to be, not only the chief of police, but also the very man who saved her life.
This book made me so emotional, from Hallies strength and perseverance in her healing journey to Lawson struggling to balance his work and the life he wanted for his family. And through all of it were these three incredible boys, who made me giggle and cry with all they went through.
I loved how this story wasn't just about Hallie and Lawson. The kids weren't plot devices. They were real kids with big emotions, and Hallie knew exactly how to be there for them because it was the way she wished her parents had treated her.
Definitely recommend this book! -- it was obvious it was book five in the series, as the other sibling appear frequently, however I didn't feel like I was missing anything, and i really appreciated that the couples from the previous books don't go into unnecessary detail about their histories which left me excited to read their books.
