Wow the suspense in this one was so intense. Also might be my fave... Even though I've said it about every single book in this series.

This is my first Catherine Cowles book and I'll be damned if I'll say it's anything less than perfection.
I loved this book and was hooked from the first page. The single dad and nanny trope is written so well and everything in between was so goooood.
I really loved how much strength Hallie showed and the way he was with Luke, Drew and Charlie.
I really liked Lawson for being concerned about the age gap and the way he was with Hallie. The way their relationship grew day by day and they both were each other rocks.
The relationship growth with the boys was so gooodd and Hallie literally knew how to wrap everyone around her fingers.
I should have started from the first book of the series but I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
I literally completed this book within a day.
The suspense was literally amazing and it held the plot very well.
I'll literally recomend this to everyone I know.
This book was worth my time.

I am so sad that the Lost and Found series has come to a close, but what a spectacular way to end it! I'm am grateful for the opportunity to have read this book as an arc before release.

Ashes of You by Catherine Cowles

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This is the kind of book that is going to live rent-free in my head forever.

The story follows our favorite grumpy single dad Lawson as he finally accepts that he needs help keeping up with his kids. But who should show up on his door than the girl he rescued 5 years previously, whom he can't stop thinking about.

All Hailee can remember about that night are the bright blue eyes of the man that saved her life. She's trying to face her fears and gain some confidence and independence back after the tragedy she survived. Only to land on the door of the man who rescued her.

Which is good because we all know things can get intense in Cedar Ridge. When the murders start happening again and the whole Hartley family rallies around Hailee, I swear someone was cutting onions in my living room.

This book and series highlight the strengths of family, family that you're born into, and family that you make.

Thank you so much, Catherine Cowles, for the Hartleys. It's family's and stories like these that stick with you.

Perfection. Absolute Perfection

This beautiful story about Lawson and Hallie really was my favorite in the whole series. I love me a good single dad and this book did not disappoint I fell in love with each and every character in this series and it was bittersweet that Hallie and Lawson were able to have the happy ending that they deserved!

It’s the way that this entire series had me in a chokehold, and how this finale was just a wonderful book in its own right. Cowles once again successfully blended together the small town/found family, romance and suspense in a way that worked well from start to end. I was loving every moment I spent reading about Hallie and Lawson and the boys; it was an emotional roller coaster for sure, but it ended on a note that felt really satisfying.

I can't believe we've come to the end of the Lost & Found series! Talk about having major bittersweet feels, people. Seeing each Hartley sibling fall in love and find their respective happily-ever-afters has been such an awesome experience because I couldn't help but become so emotionally invested in every single one of them. And now, we've reached the last one standing, and he's the eldest among them--Lawson Hartley. The thirty-eight-year-old father of three--Luke, Drew, and Charlie--gets his HEA in Ashes of You, and his story is a doozy, one that gave full-circle-moment vibes. He's paired with Halston Astor, a twenty-five-year-old who prefers to go by Hallie and comes from a wealthy family in Chicago, Illinois. She comes in to interview for the position of nanny to Law's three boys, and when he opens the door and she sees those blue eyes of his, the realization that they know each other is a shock to both their systems. In close quarters and spending a lot of time together stirs up feelings and emotions cannot be pushed aside. But the return of someone else from their past battles for attention, and they refuse to be ignored.

The whole nanny storyline has been done more times than I can count, but Catherine Cowles has taken it and elevated it in such a way that made this a story that I won't soon forget. There was the romance and the suspense--both of which I come to expect from Cowles--but this author never fails to impress, especially since she has to be able to make each book a standalone while still having those tendrils that tie everything in a series. Law and Hallie were two people who were tied together as well, and their shared history almost made you feel like they were destined to find their way back to one another. Hallie's relationships with each of Law's sons was one of my favorite things about the book, but I confess that Luke was such a standout side character, and finally getting answers as to why his relationship with Law was struggling as much as it was was gratifying. And can I just say that the villain in this fifth and final Lost & Found series threw me for a loop?! Gah! I did NOT see that coming. Nicely done, Catherine Cowles. Nicely done. What a way to end the series. Five-plus stars go to Ashes of You. Now...what's next?!
